Our study of aikido incorporates the study of iaido. The iaido we study illuminates the deep relationship between the katana and techniques in aikido. Our Iaido study also integrates the ken (wooden sword) and jo (wooden staff) to show the expressions of Aikido techniques as they flow from empty hand techniques to the final expressions with the katana.
